Chris Orchard is married with three children. As family and friends will testify, Chris has always been able to tell a good story. Patricia and Annabelle were the heroines when he told bedtime stories to his young children.

In the 1990's, after his children had grown up, Chris decided to write his first novel based on the bedtime stories. The first adventure "The Detective" was published in 1996. The second adventure "The Duel" was published in 2002. The third adventure, "Peril in Normandy" was published in Janauary 2004.

Annabelle is the centre of a happy home and circle of friends. She makes friends both young and old by taking time to think about them and to share with them. She takes as much pleasure in Susan's tennis, Peter's cricket and chess, and Patricia's detective triumphs as in her own singing. She sings from the depth of a happy heart and she brings sunshine wherever she goes. She doesn't mind that she's a bit of dunce at school
